first let me disclaim this by giving credit to slashdot because without the insight of their lovely readers I would never have become aware of the idiot's number. With the props out of the way, let's get down to the explanation.

6,520,942 is the patent number for a process called "Method to improve peri-anal hygiene after a bowel movement." Just when you thought this country could never get any dumber, you look back and realize we've always been a nation of idiots tuned into game shows, yelling at the moron on TV and telling anyone who would listen how much better we could do it. But it is still disappointing.
